Despite spells at Newcastle, Dundee and Livingston the name of John Roberston will be forever associated with only one club. During his two separate spells at Heart of Midlothian Robbo became a legend.
In his playing days he had an unrivalled nose for goal. His bustling all action style was rewarded by 16 Scottish international caps and his record breaking 27 goals against city rivals Hibernian just added to his hero status with the Jambos. He is viewed by many as the best Hearts player they have ever seen.
He went on to manage his beloved Hearts as well as Inverness Caley Thistle, Livingston, Ross County and Derry City.
Robbo was at Hearts over 18 years scored over 300 goals and made over 500 appearances. He has a hospitality lounge named after him at Tynecastle but we are unsure if this is because of his performances or because he had a fondness for sausage rolls and pints!
